Bennetts Associates finish £2.3m Glasgow office refurbishment
April 22 2016
Bennetts Associates have completed a £2.3m refurbishment of a post-modern office block at 100 West George Street, Glasgow, on behalf of Whiteburn and London & Scottish investments. The fit out includes a new double height entrance space, raised access flooring and LED lighting together with an updated M&E system to obtain a coveted Grade A specification.
In their design statement Bennetts wrote that their approach was informed by the desire to ‘create a more open and engaging relationship with the street’ by widening window openings on the upper ground floor.
They said: “Metal framing is used to accentuate the windows on upper ground as well as providing a lining to the enlarged opening. An architectural metalwork border which frames the new restaurant entrance has a laser cut pattern. Other consented metalwork screens to the office entrance provide cohesion through the use of similar materials and treatments.”
Byron Hamburgers have taken the lease on a ground floor restaurant unit with four floors of office accommodation stretching to 20,000sq/ft currently being marketed.
