Investors sought for community-owned Dingwall distillery
April 19 2016
Glenwyvis Distillery is seeking investors to back a £2.5m vision to create a community-owned distillery and associated visitor centre at Dingwall in the Highlands.Reynolds Architecture will oversee the venture, which will be fully powered by on-site renewables with locals resident within the IV postcode being offered discounted shares.
In their business plan GlenWyvis state: “The development costs of £2,532,000 include a new and architecturally impressive building at a key entrance site to Dingwall, high-quality, interactive exhibitions, and a cinema that meets Independent Film Association standards.
“The Visitor Centre is forecast to make losses and cash deficits in the first year of trading, before it becomes firmly established in Inverness-based and Highland-based tourism infrastructure.”
Construction could commence in June with production getting underway by January 2017.

This is a wonderful addition to the local vernacular architectural style. I give this project the thumbs up.
