Hackney based StudioAnyo have submitted plans for a 160-bed Courtyard by Marriott hotel at the National Performance Centre for Sport (Oriam), Edinburgh, on behalf of Polcom and Heriot Watt University.

Located within the university’s Riccarton campus the project will be finished in brick and aluminium panels with a glazed top level players dining hall and open colonnade along the ground floor.

In a design statement the architects noted: “The hotel will be an exemplar fully modular hotel solution to bring state of the art construction to Scotland and the hotel market. Innovations include self-sealing facades, non scaffolded access, modular staircases, lifts and fully modular mechanical installations.”

Should planning be forthcoming the hotel could be on site by April for a 40 week build.
