East Lothian Community Hospital to proceed
March 10 2016
East Lothian Council has granted planning consent for a purpose-built community hospital at Roodlands, Haddington, enabling a number of clinical services to be reintroduced to the county.East Lothian Health and Social Care Partnership’s, chief officer, David Small, said: “These plans will see a purpose-built hospital developed, helping improve the quality of care for people in East Lothian.
Finished in render and vertical Equitone (linea) cladding the project has been designed from the ‘inside out’ to maximise connections between internal therapeutic environments and outside spaces.
“It will also bring a significant number of services back to the county, so that people can be treated closer to their homes and in their community.
An outline business case for the Keppie designed project will be submitted to the Scottish government for approval later in 2016 with the new hospital expected to open by 2020.

Ok its a hospital but does the design have to be so sterile, it appears to have been inoculated against any architectural character!

Architectural character inoculation is standard procedure for HUB framework contractors despite the diagnosis of the designers.

Beware the architectural proposal with CGIs in which the outbreak of plants feature more prominently than the architecture.

The cyclist and woman in the main picture seem to have had half their bodies chopped off by the grass. Phew, luckily they are right next to a hospital!
Oh yes, and the architecture looks like a child has been practicing perspective - not architecture.
