Aldi is to build a 21,500sq/ft extension to its Bathgate headquarters to oversee ongoing expansion of the budget supermarket chain which intends to open eight new stores through 2016.The 21,500sq/ft head office extension is designed to blend with the existing facility and will offer updated mechanical and electrical services as well as improvements to IT and security infrastructure.
Implemented by ISG the work will be undertaken throughout the live operation of the existing building and will include meeting rooms, an archive, kitchen presentation area and canteen in addition to office space.
Andy McLinden, ISG’s Scotland regional managing director, commented; “Aldi has been highly successful with its quality offer in Scotland. I’m delighted that our first project for Aldi in Scotland is highly significant in supporting the supermarket’s country-wide expansion strategy, delivering a high-quality and future proof administrative centre in Bathgate.”

Castle greyskull is a science-fiction film set and a half. Hope this extension doesn't muck up that endless perspective of sheer nothingness. All who enter here do so at their very peril. Few come out alive.
