SMC Parr names as Inverclyde School project preferred bidder
March 26 2008
SMC Parr Architects has been named as the preferred bidder for the PPP Inverclyde Schools project as part of the e4i Consortium.
The £80 million project consists of four new buildings – two secondary schools and two primaries – which are to be built on a variety of sites in Greenock.
One of the secondary projects, Notre Dame in Dunlop Street (pictured), features a three storey colonaded frontage while its library forms an appropriate visual focus to the school.
The Council’s brief aimed to make the schools the most sustainable educational buildings to date, resulting in four low energy, low carbon, high thermal mass buildings.
