Expanded Premier Inn hotel to front Dundee waterfront
March 3 2016
Whitbread have applied for planning permission to enlarge Dundee’s waterfront Premier Inn hotel to house 149 bedrooms together with associated landscaping work and reworked public areas.Overseen by Lawrence McPherson Associates the work will significantly extend the current 40 bed hotel with a new four storey extensions flanking the existing hotel to the east and west overlooking the River Tay.
Straying from the generic Premier Inn look the hotel will be given a ‘bespoke design’ to tie-in with Dundee’s waterfront master plan.
In a statement Walsingham planning noted: “This hotel will differ from standard Premier Inn hotel designs. Following far-reaching and on-going discussions with Dundee City Council, and in accordance with the aspirations and objectives of the Dundee Waterfront Masterplan, a bespoke design is proposed.”

Arghhhh...it's still a glorified shoebox that smacks of mass prefabrication! Disappointing but not surprising!

It is a massive improvement on the cheap looking 40 room Premier Inn that is currently onsite.
This is not a prime spot, as people say not the greatest design but not the worst.
