South Lanarkshire College low carbon teaching building opens

South Lanarkshire College has opened the doors to the latest addition to its East Kilbride campus, a low carbon teaching building designed by Austin-Smith:Lord.The first UK building to attain a BREEAM ‘Outstanding’ rating at both design and post-construction stages having been deemed to excel at management, health & wellbeing, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, land use & ecology, pollution and innovation.
This sees the design embrace features such as solar chimneys to provide ventilation and harvested rainwater for low water usage flushing toilets.
Built by CCG the building offers eight classrooms and facilities for teaching and workshops and has been shortlisted for a 2016 BREEAM Award.

even if the claim is true; at what cost? this single photo makes it look very poor.
