Edinburgh office refurbishments get underway amidst rising demand
January 29 2016
Knight Property Group has begun the speculative refurbishment of two city centre office premises in Edinburgh amidst increased confidence in the sector.Overseen by Space Solutions the work will see five floors of period office accommodation totalling 7,317sq/ft brought to market within a traditional Georgian town house at 110 George Street.
A sister scheme at 2 Castle terrace will see 10,995sq/ft of accommodation built over four levels behind a retained façade.
Bruce Robertson, chartered surveyor at JLL commented: “Recently we have seen a lack of high-specification office developments of this size coming to market, especially in such sought after city centre locations. With office supply diminishing, the addition of two quality offices within Edinburgh city centre is a significant boost for the corporate occupier market. It is worth noting that 70% of requirements in Edinburgh in 2015 were for accommodation under 3,000 sq ft.”
Both projects will deliver Grade A workspace to meet rising demand for city centre properties.
