Girvan Leisure Centre set for construction start

Construction work is set to get underway on a new leisure centre for Girvan and South Carrick after South Ayrshire Council finalised funding for the £6m build.Located on Girvan Harbour the Archial Norr designed scheme will be built by Morrison Construction and includes a 25m pool, fitness suite, gym, café, community room and play space.
Councillor Bill McIntosh, leader of South Ayrshire Council commented: "The new leisure and community facility will be the first of its kind built by this council in almost 20 years and I couldn't be more proud that it will be making a huge difference for people and communities in Girvan and South Carrick.”
The new facility should open its doors by spring 2017.
