URBAN ALCHEMY: The Transforming Power of Art and Architecture is a key conference for artists, architects, planners, developers, community leaders and policy makers will take place at Belfast Waterfront Hall On Tuesday 26 September. Artists, architects, developers, planners and community leaders will meet for the first time in Northern Ireland to examine the impact of art and architecture on cities and places. Speakers include Sunand Prasad (President Elect of the Royal Institute of British Architects), Maggie Bolt, director of PROJECT, the UK wide scheme to encourage public art; and architects O‚Donnell + Tuomey and Arts Team, who are working on the new Lyric Theatre and the refurbishment of the Grand Opera House respectively. Frank McDonald, Environment Editor with the Irish Times will chair the day‚s discussions.
