Galashiels health centre plan tabled
January 12 2016
Aitken Turnbull Architects have submitted plans on behalf of NHS Borders to build a new GP surgery at Roxburgh Street, Galashiels, on the site of an existing ambulance depot.Finished in light and grey render, brick base course, timber and glazing the centre is designed with future expansion in mind with the possibility of extending above the single storey element.
In a design statement the practice wrote: “The building is split into three main masses - upper storey houses the main staff facilities including offices, whilst the ground floor is the private areas for consulting rooms and the light timber corner indicates the public and waiting zones. The massing represents a light ground floor with a darker upper storey in relation to surrounding buildings which have lighter render and a dark slated pitched roof. This flat roof design plays on this idea with two storeys of heavy and light elements.”
Construction work is scheduled to get underway in May.

Someone needs to look into that road surface. The car's tyres have been completely destroyed. Either that or it's a veiled comment on the clientele round Gala-way...

The clientele can't be that bad if car owner leave their car doors wide open
