Phase one of new AECC masterplan to get underway

Construction consultancy firm Turner & Townsend have been tasked with project managing the 105,000sq/m new Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre; including a 12,500 capacity arena, three hotels and energy centre.Timetabled for completion in 2019 the first phase of work will presage delivery of up to 60,000sq/m of office and 6,000sq/m of leisure space on-site.
Turner & Townsend director Andy Outram said: “Over the next three years, our role will be to overcome numerous challenges including construction so close to the airport, diverting large scale utilities and repositioning three existing watercourse to create a new park.”
The £333m AECC is being delivered in a partnership between Henry Boot Developments and Aberdeen City Council.

This is worth building just for the fact that there's now a train available to get there. Will miss those miserable hour long drunken walks from the city centre north to watch Rihanna or The Killers
