Aberdeen gas works to make way for new flats
August 31 2015
Halliday Fraser Munro has applied for planning permission to erect 32 flats on behalf of Barratt Homes on the site of a former Aberdeen gas works.Situated adjacent to a larger 'Ocean' development of 174 flats, now under construction, the scheme takes the form of an L-plan block rising from four to six storeys enclosing a semi-private open space.
In their design statement the architects observed: “A landscaped buffer zone of 3.5m will be provided to the south between the proposed block and the heel of the Ocean car park footpath. This amenity space will soften the relationship between the proposed development and the Ocean car parking.
“The soft and hard landscaping will carry on the theme of the Ocean development thus ensuring a high quality development throughout.“
DWA have been appointed as landscape architects.

Just another horrendously designed residential development in Aberdeen, just what the city needs. No wonder it was voted the most dismal city. Bravo HFM. Shockingly poor quality image straight from sketch-up.
