Austin-Smith Lord to master plan Kilwinning

Austin-Smith Lord has been appointed by the Irvine Bay Regeneration Company to masterplan the North Ayrshire town of Kilwinning, one of five towns in the region earmarked for improvements.Town regeneration plans are being drawn up for Ardrossan, Saltcoats, Stevenson, Irvine and Kilwinning, which aim to revitalise each of the town centres and boost the local economy.
Iain Wylie, partner of Austin-Smith Lord, said: “We are delighted to have secured this commission with Irvine Bay URC. We look forward to drawing upon our extensive local knowledge and working with the Kilwinning community to develop an innovative and inspiring vision for the town which is deliverable and sustainable.”
A programme of public consultations is already under way and plans are expected to be ready by Summer 2009.
