Work gets underway at £38m Forfar Community Campus

Construction work has begun in earnest at a £38m dual education and community facility in Forfar, Angus, designed by JM Architects.Forfar Community Campus is being delivered by Hub East central Scotland and will replace Forfar Academy, Forfar Swimming Pool and Lochside Leisure Centre.
Angus Council’s education convener Sheena Welsh welcomed the start of construction at the site: “I am delighted to see work start in earnest on this project which will create a facility of which everyone in Forfar can be proud.
“The campus approach allows us to bring together a range of enhanced services and spaces designed for use both during and out with the school day by the whole community."
Construction is expected to complete by December 2016 whereupon demolition of the existing Forfar Academy will take place.
