Public consultation launched for AECC and Bridge of Don masterplans
May 22 2015
Aberdeen City Council has launched a six week public consultation into plans for the creation of a new exhibition and conference centre at Bucksburn, following submission of the masterplan by Henry Boot Developments and Keppie in April. The project will be delivered in tandem with a development framework for the site of the existing AECC at Bridge of Don which will make way for a Cooper Cromar led residential project, including some commercial uses.
Commenting on the plan Nick Harris, Henry Boot’s Scottish director said: “The Bucksburn masterplan will deliver world-class architectural, urban and landscape design, providing a venue which is a key element of the business structure needed to promote Aberdeen as a World Energy City and the Energy Capital of Europe.
“The masterplan uses landscaping very effectively to ensure that the journey through the site of the new exhibition centre is welcoming, pleasant and easy to navigate, and connects well with the surrounding area.”
Anyone wishing to inform the direction of these plans has until 1 July to do so.
