Construction underway on Cadder Community Centre
January 30 2015
Cadder Housing Association has begun taking bookings for its new community centre ahead of its completion in October, replacing a redundant sports hall with a £3m purpose-built facility in one of the most deprived communities in Glasgow.Designed by Cooper Cromar the build marries buff brick with timber effect cladding with the architects stating: “A modest and refined palette of materials have been selected to achieve a coherent and concise development that integrates different forms and functions to act as focal point for the surrounding community.”
Made possible by a £1.2m grant from the Big Lottery Fund the project is being delivered by Clarks Contracts and will deliver space for activities and services for residents of Cadder and the surrounding area.
