November 27 2014
Residents have begun moving into a £5m affordable and shared equity housing development in Shawlands, Glasgow, overlooking the River Cart.Offering a range of 39 flats the property was built by CCG for Sanctuary Scotland to designs by Cooper Cromar and incorporates a first floor communal deck area for drying and amenity.
Sanctuary in Scotland director Gordon Laurie said: “We are delighted with the feedback we’ve received from those residing in our Holmbank Avenue development.
“This project brings high quality but affordable housing to the south side of Glasgow in an attractive riverside location.”
Representing Glasgow City Council, which contributed £2m to the scheme, Bailie Liz Cameron, added: “GCC is delighted to enable Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association to provide much needed modern flats for social rent and sale on an affordable shared equity basis in a location next to the popular Shawlands town centre, where such development opportunities are in very short supply."
