BAM named preferred bidder for V&A Dundee build

BAM Construction has emerged as the preferred bidder in a battle to build the V&A at Dundee, as efforts to realise the £45m Kengo Kuma designed facility enter the final furlong.The contractor will now work closely with the project team, led by Dundee City Council, on nailing down the detailed design specification with the intension of arriving at a fixed price contract.
Douglas Keillor, regional director for BAM Construction in Scotland, said, “This is a project of international significance and it is great to hear that we have been recommended as the preferred main contractor. We keenly await the decision of Dundee City Council on Monday."
Work to deliver the flagship waterfront attraction had been scheduled to get underway this summer, for completion by late 2016.
