Barr Construction have moved on-site of a long-planned Waitrose store in Milngavie on behalf of Town Centre Securities, delivering the retailers seventh Scottish outlet.

Designed by the Harris Partnership the scheme is being built on a pitch belonging to West of Scotland FC, with the retailer building replacement facilities elsewhere on site.

Neil McCallum, President of West of Scotland Football Club said: “The Club has been in negotiations for some time to agree this deal and we are pleased to be able to secure the long term future of West at Burnbrae. We see this as a springboard to further success both on and off the pitch.”

Waitrose recently unveiled its 300th UK store in Helensburgh. 

Construction is expected to complete in March 2015.
