Work begins on Aberdeenshire Council’s Peterhead HQ
Robertson have moved on site of Aberdeenshire Council’s new Buchan HQ in Peterhead as the authority seeks to centralise its customer service role within the Buchan area of its jurisdiction.

Designed in-house the scheme seeks to instil civic presence without dominating the Old Parish Church and will consist of two distinct sections conjoined by a glazed entrance space.

The £5m project replaces a temporary car park on St Peter Street and forms a V-shape along surrounding roads. It will be faced in locally sourced Peterhead granite.

Aberdeenshire Council leader Jim Gifford commented: “It’s exciting to see work on the ground begin on a development which is an important element of the council’s wider regeneration strategy for Peterhead.

“These modern area headquarters will help us provide better services, release buildings in the town which can be used for other purposes and make savings which can then be put back into improving our customers’ experience."
