May 22 2014
A £4.8m sports complex at Peebles High has been officially opened by Scottish Borders Council, providing a games hall, fitness suite and classrooms together with outdoor pitches for use by pupils and the wider community.Designed in-house and delivered by Graham Construction the new facility was funded by the local council aided by a £500k grant from sportscotland.
Councillor Vicky Davidson, SBC's executive member for sport, culture, youth and communities said: "Peebles is the biggest high school in the Borders and these new larger facilities will allow it to deliver the full PE curriculum to all of its students, something they struggled with before due to lack of space and an outdated building."
