Stockbridge hotel refurbishment completes

Aitken Turnbull Architects have completed the refurbishment and extension of a grade B listed hotel in Stockbridge, Edinburgh.The Raeburn House Hotel had been reduced to a derelict shell after lying vacant for seven years as it was left to languish on the buildings at risk register,
Now it plays host to a bar and restaurant together with ten bespoke bedrooms.
Aitken Turnbull recently promoted Alasdair Rankin to director following the retirement of Andrew Lester, although Lester will remain on board as a consultant working from the firms Galashiels office for three days a week.
The property was bought by present owner Archie MacLean for £1.2m in November 2011 and refurbished for £2m
