Graven Images unveil Covent Garden barber shop
February 14 2014
Graven Images have unveiled the latest parlour of Edinburgh based barber chain Ruffians in London’s Covent Garden. The interior design specialists stripped the property back to its brick walls and timber floors before specifying a solid oak cutting desk and traditional barber’s chairs to sit occupy this space.
Large format Edison filament bulbs are draped across the ceiling and walls to highlight the brick vaults and an integrated vacuum system sucks shorn hair from the floor, dispensing with the traditional brooms.
Intended to make a short back and sides a more sociable experience Ruffians align their barber chairs to face one another and the salon even has its own custom scent which is wafted into the air.
In addition to the main floor Ruffians incorporates a shop and reception space together with a café-style waiting area with a wood-burning fireplace and coffee bar.
