Banchory town square exhibition concludes
February 5 2014
An exhibition outlining proposals for the rejuvenation of Banchory’s Scott Skinner Square has concluded, during which contemporary plans for updating the public space were shown off.Drawn up by Fin Macrae and Alister MacInnes the proposal includes provision of a new overhead entrance feature for the civic space, together with lighting columns and seating.
A planning application for the work is expected to be submitted in the coming weeks with commencing on site this autumn.
Councillor Jim Gifford, chair of Aberdeenshire Council’s policy & resources committee, said: “DUFI worked hard to engage with local people throughout the process and it is great to see that has paid off with positive feedback on their proposals.
“There were a large number of constructive comments and suggestions and these are all being considered by the artists ahead of the project moving forward with the submission of planning applications.”

It's difficult to get a feel for the quality of the scheme when the visualisations are so poor. Even if you're just using Sketchup it's possible to tweak the output so at the very least you don't get thick black outlines around everything and a resolution more befitting Ceefax.
