Pentland Outdoor Centre breaks ground

Construction work has commenced on a £3m outdoor centre at Fairmilehead, Edinburgh, run by Craigdon Mountain Sports.Pentland Outdoor Centre will be run on solar energy and combine retail outlet and café with facilities for the Pentland Rangers and ski ire facilities.
Designed by Oberlanders this will take the form of a large drum shaped building housing commercial enterprises with an adjoining block providing new housing.
Both sections will be connected by way of a basement level workshop.
Keith Watters of surveyors Graham & Sibbald, said: “This is a fantastic new development for Edinburgh and hill walkers, climbers and skiers will be flocking here once it is open for business.”
