Keppie see ‘real signs of improvement’ for architects amidst recruitment drive

Keppie Design has announced the appointment of 33 new members of staff to its UK offices to handle a growing workload at home and abroad.Citing ‘real signs of improvement’ in the market Keppie has appointed Elaine MacLeod, Tony Byrne and Maryla Betkowska as divisional directors specialising in commercial, health and education projects respectively.
MacLeod arrives from the architectural division of property agents James Barr whilst both Byrne and Betkowska were previously employed by Archial. They are joined by a further 30 new recruits spread throughout the practices six UK offices.
Managing director Martin English said: “We feel the market is finally showing real signs of improvement and we’ve therefore taken steps to increase resources across the business.”
In recent months Keppie has won work at Glasgow's St Vincent Plaza and Aberdeen's Capitol Theatre.
