A sod cutting ceremony has taken place on site of a new NHS Primary Care Centre at Dalbeattie, Dumfries & Galloway. The a £2.5m facility will e built on a former railway terminus and factory and replaces an existing outmoded suite of buildings in the town
The plans had been in the pipeline for a number of years but had only now come to fruition following a 2.3m cash injection from the Scottish Government.
Designed by Anderson Bell + Christie the new centre is loosely modelled on a small farm steading and will provide space for visitors and staff, increasing capacity of an existing GP practice.
Configured to present as much frontage to the road as possible the building adopts a U-shaped plan to form a secluded south facing courtyard.
