Keppie submit Central Quay plans
July 5 2013
Keppie has submitted detailed plans for the development of a new business park at Central Quay, Glasgow, fleshing out an earlier master plan for the area.Developed by Goodman the scheme will provide 600,000sq/ft of Grade A office space on 3 hectares of land to the west of the Kingston Bridge and is intended to bridge the gap between out of town business parks and city centre accommodation.
This will see creation of a ‘park’ environment with buildings located on the eastern edge of the site and undercroft parking utilised throughout.
Phase one works will incorporate landscaped public realm and a public square to provide a pedestrian route through the elongated plot and will entail demolition of the former Bilsland Bakery.
Subject to demand a small café, convenience store and gym could be accommodated facing onto this square.
Eight separate buildings, developed in four phases, will be built - starting from the north by the Clydeside Expressway before snaking down to the river to fill the site footprint.
