Pacific Quay hotel construction commences

Ogilvie Construction have moved on-site of a new 180 bed Premier Inn at Glasgow’s Pacific Quay in a fast track build to deliver the scheme in time for the 2014 Commonwealth GamesDesigned by Lawrence McPherson Associates the six storey block is intended to continue the wall of buildings along the south bank by balancing the scale of the neighbouring BBC building on one side and STV HQ on the other.
A restaurant will front onto the river walkway with an external seating area spilling over into a new public space which will link Bells Bridge to Pacific Quay.
Finished in a grey aluminium metal cladding system the scheme was approved by planners last November.
