BDPs Atria Edinburgh completes
City of Edinburgh Council, funder and developer behind Atria, has begun marketing for potential tenants following completion of what is regarded as the last piece in the jigsaw of the Exchange business district.

The 200,000sq/ft property is split between two buildings adjacent to the Edinburgh International Conference Centre and will be the only speculative city centre Grade A office building to complete in the UK outside London by early 2013.

Sue Bruce, chief executive of The City of Edinburgh Council, said: “This development, set against the backdrop of a UK market where there is a dearth of large speculative office developments, gives Edinburgh a competitive advantage in attracting new, and retaining existing, businesses.”

Designed by BDP the development team includes main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine and structural engineer Halcrow Yolles.
