Search launched for Britain’s worst shed
April 17 2013
A search has been launched to identify Britain’s most dilapidated shed following the successful transformation of a shabby shack, held together by nothing more than a lucky horseshoe, into a plush bolt hole by fashion designer Eley Kishimoto.Shed of the Year is an attempt to build on this success by locating an outhouse with even more parlous structural integrity, so that the lean-to can be given a similarly transformative makeover.
Kishimoto said: “I spent many days of my childhood in my grandfathers shed. A shed is a real British institution and it was great to bring in our team to put our own specialised print on this sad shed and add some personality and colour.”
Shed owner Kate Wilson, winner of the first competition, said, “The roof was leaking, the walls rotting and the slightest breeze would send the whole structure shaking. I am delighted that my dilapidated shed was chosen as one of the ‘UK’s worst sheds’ and that it has been given a new lease of life. I look forward to seeing whether someone else can trump me with their own shed!”
Shabby shed owners are invited to send snaps of their own garden horrors to competition organisers Cuprinol, to be judged by a panel that this year includes Sarah Beeny.

Are you running a "worst shed competition" anytime soon, as a friend of mine has a very strong contender! ????
