Jude Barber named as Saltire Housing Design Award convener
April 3 2013
The Saltire Society has announced that Jude Barber, director at Collective Architecture, has been appointed as convener of this year’s Saltire Housing Design Awards with broadcaster and journalist Lesley Riddoch serving as guest chair of the judging panel; a role performed by Dick Cannon last year. The appointments coincide with a formal call for entries for this year’s scheme; which is open to all Scottish owners, clients, architects and developers.
Commenting on the launch Barber said: “I am delighted to have been appointed convener for 2013 and have the chance to contribute to the Saltire Society’s important, ongoing work in Scotland’s cultural life.
“The quality of a nation’s housing speaks of its cultural, social and economic priorities and the Saltire Society Housing Awards are proud to have celebrated Scotland’s achievements in housing since 1937.”
Winners of the annual hunt for the best new housing will be named during the course of an awards dinner this September.
