Anderston regeneration progresses
March 14 2013
Sanctuary Housing Association are progressing works to remodel Glasgow’s Anderston district with the demolition of its central tower to make way for 109 new apartments and maisonettes.Phase three of the masterplan is being delivered by Cooper Cromar following a design competition and is intended to complement existing tenements and earlier phases of a masterplan developed by MAST Architects.
Public realm works and pedestrian links will better connect the area to the surrounding locality by reinstating the historic street pattern through buff brick clad blocks of between five and sic storeys.
Safedem are currently on site stripping windows from an 18 storey tower block on the site pending its demolition.

Got to love that mid 2000s business park aesthetic. Doesn't strike me as working particularly well with any nearby tenements either - the proportions just don't work.
