Scottish Government gives Dundee housing go-ahead

The Scottish Government has given the go-ahead to the construction of 99 affordable homes on the site of the former Wallace Craigie Works, Dundee.Housing and welfare minister Margaret Burgess made the announcement as part of the government’s National Housing Trust initiative.
A planning application for the redevelopment of the former works was submitted by the Voigt Partnership in June of last year.
It called for conversion of the B listed Halleys Mill to form 24 apartments along with construction of 150 new build homes.
Two developers, James Keller Estates and Ferrier Holdings, have been appointed to undertake the work this spring with completion anticipated in the autumn of next year.
