Aberdeen Criminal Justice Centre reaches financial close
A planned £9.2m Criminal Justice Centre at Kittybrewster, Aberdeen, has cleared a significant hurdle after reached financial close from Hub North Scotland.

The GMA/Ryder designed facility will consist of 60 cells, interview facilities, consultation rooms and medical facilities as well as office provision for 90 police staff and the Kittybrewster Local policing Team.

To be built by Mansell the new facility is located on a brownfield site formerly home to a Scottish Water depot and is scheduled to reach completion in December 2013

Angus Macfarlane, Chief Executive, hub North Scotland Ltd, said: “Upon completion, the new building will bring benefits to the force, resulting in a smaller number of larger custody facilities, rather than a large volume of smaller facilities which currently exist, and the local community at large.”
The linear block will be split in two with a secure pre-cast concrete sub level topped by a glazed open plan office space
