Tarlair pool restoration plans to be considered

Proposals to restore a 1930s art deco outdoor pool in Tarlair, are to be considered by Aberdeenshire councillors.The controversial plans would entail filling in everything bar the main pool, which would be used for model boats, and demolishing some out buildings.
This has angered many but proponents argue that the work is necessary to guarantee the survival of the remainder.
Designed by John C Miller in 1931 he category A listed pool is currently a resident of the Scottish Civic Trust’s buildings at risk register.
Historic Scotland described the pool as the ‘most outstanding surviving example of its type’.
