Supermarket chain to open new stores

Supermarket giant Asda is to open three new stores in the west of Scotland as part of a £500 million growth programme aimed at narrowing the gap with market leaders Tesco.
The new stores will be built in Ardrossan, Girvan and Wishaw as part of the 18-store expansion throughout the UK.
The news was announced by Asda President Andy Boyd. The three stores are expected to create around 650 jobs.
