Fast and the Furious pop-up architecture emerges on the Broomielaw
August 30 2012
Glasgow is to stand in for London for the next fortnight as filming for the Fast and the Furious 6 gets underway in the city, with streets around the financial district reverberating to the sounds of intermittent gunfire, explosions and car crashes. This violence will be centred on the streets around the Broomielaw, specifically a temporary plywood pavilion which will act as a car showroom and hub for the nocturnal pyrotechnics.
Streets in the area will be cordoned off between 7pm and 6am to allow producers to stage the stunts safely.
Vin Diesel will not be in town for the shoot.
Glasgow previously acted as a stand-in for Philadelphia in World War Z, San Francisco in Cloud Atlas… and as a post-apocalyptic wasteland in Doomsday.
