Ministers approve Forth crossing plans
February 15 2007
Ministers have backed plans to build either a new bridge or tunnel across the Firth of Forth.
The exact details of the development have still to be decided, but the project is expected to cost around £1 billion.
Transport Minister Tavish Scott said the project “will be the biggest construction project since devolution” and that the final decision as to what form the crossing will take will be made after the May elections.
