Excavation work starts
January 23 2007
Contractors are beginning work on the excavation and demolition works at the former Infirmary Street Swimming baths in Edinburgh, as part of a project to convert the former pool to create a new home of Dovecot tapestry weavers. The original building was designed by City Architect Robert Morham in 1885. Many of the original features of the pools will be retained. The converted building will provide a workshop, offices, exhibition space and a new residential space. Construction should start in summer and be completed by the end of the year.
