April 30 2012
Sponsored articleTENMAT, the composite materials manufacturer, is celebrating after receiving a Queens Award for Enterprise – Innovation 2012 for its fire protection range.
The award, given in the Queen's Jubilee year, was accorded in recognition of the quality, expertise and safety contribution offered by TENMAT’s fire protection products – particularly those designed for use on timber framed and timber clad buildings.
It also reflects the large investment made by TENMAT in testing the range across a wide range of building types and materials.
Amongst the products recognised were ventilated wall cavity barriers, designed to facilitate full ventilation of combustible wall cavities and to seal the cavity in the event of a fire, which have been utilised on the Commonwealth Games 2014 athletes village.
A suite of pipe and ventilation duct fire sleeves, which have been specified for use in the new Southern General Hospital, also contributed to the award.
