GIA seeks architecture comp community partner
April 25 2012
The Glasgow Institute of Architects is inviting expressions of interest from community groups and organisations to help develop an architectural competition.Managed by GIA this competition will seek to promote both architectural and urban design matters to the wider public and carries a £2k prize fund.
GIA President Michael Jarvis said: “It is a different approach from GIA this year. Our architectural competitions can offer real benefits to communities and we wanted to extend the offer to as many groups as possible.
“We are also looking to our members and the profession to challenge GIA with the architectural issues they think we should be addressing.”
Expressions of interest should be made via the GIA website prior to the end of May.
Winners of past GIA competitions include ZM Architects who developed proposals for a new bandstand in Glasgow's Queens Park.
