Building Trust launch urban home design competition

The Building Trust have launched an open international competition for the design of an affordable single occupancy home to help alleviate increasing levels of homelessness and poverty in the developed world.It comes amidst increasing instances of people, young and old, becoming marginalised in a society where single occupancy households are becoming increasingly prevalent.
To solve this crisis the Trust are looking for a sustainable and affordable design for a small urban home which can provide such people with a safe place to live.
20k of funding will be sought to realise the winning designer, architect or engineer's plans with the expectation that their design will ultimately be built (subject to planning).
Called simply ‘HOME’ the competition is inviting interested parties to register by June 30.
