Demolition of former brewery site begins
December 11 2006
Demolition has begun at the former site of the Scottish and Newcastle brewery in Fountainbridge, Edinburgh.
The demolition will make room for a proposed redevelopment of the area by Grosvenor worth £200 million, a third of which will be given over to open spaces such as park areas and walkways.
John Irvine, director of Grosvenor, said: "Our detailed planning application is a logical first step in the wider design process and sets the standards for the entire redevelopment of the Fountainbridge area."
