Linwood's splendour can only truly be appreciated during a blackout.

'This church awaits divine intervention'

No doubt about it.

I'd say thunderbolt...or maybe big jobby.

Great solution - Tesco on their way to save the another incredibly short sighted Scottish town.
Very little of Tesco's revenue goes back into the local community compared to that of local businesses. Skilled local tradesman & shopkeepers turned into a nation of shelf stackers and checkout assistants.
Linwood - Kiss goodbye to 60s brutalism.
Welcome to the sickly bland face of the 21st Century Scottish High Street. Tesco, Charity Shops & Bookies.
a missed opportunity

It might be a deliberate mis-spelling, but I think pigeons are the SOLE occupiers. Unless they are actually in some souls in Linwood as well....

Pigeons, plural, can hardly be sole occupiers.

It's so sad to see what has become of Linwood town centre. I visited Linwood often in my childhood as my Grandfather lived there and we would take a walk and sit on the wall outside the Venture pub where I would have an Appletize. Hoping to see some real progress real soon.

I lived in Belmar Court in Linwood from 1992 until early 1997. Worked as a Staff Nurse at Merchiston Hospital. Now living in New Zealand. Happy memories, but glad I’m not still there.
