Trump wins temporary clubhouse go-ahead
December 14 2011
Donald Trump has won planning permission from Aberdeenshire Council to begin construction of a temporary clubhouse on the site of his planned golf course in Menie.A temporary clubhouse is required by next summer in order to provide facilities for the first wave of golfers to try out the new course, which will be ready before the permanent clubhouse can be completed.
Scotland’s former lord advocate, Colin Boyd QC, was drafted in by Trump to sell the proposal to planners, declaring it was needed to allow Aberdeenshire to “reap the benefit” of the course immediately.
Permission to erect the 10ft high galvanised steel structure, designed by Covell Matthews Architects, was granted by a majority of 9-2.
The clubhouse proper, designed by Acanthus df, has been shortlisted for a Carbuncle award.

Portaloo. I appreciate that it's temporary however as an architect and golfer I would hope for a discount on course fees.

Is the design typical of Covell Matthews Architects? a fine porfolio they must have, would have benefitted from a CGI 3D fly/walk/play through!!

I suspect the only thing CMA did was lodge the Planning Application...maybe some space planning...regardless, it still looks better than the Acanthus df solution.
Anyone know what the "df" stands for?
