November 22 2006
The Scottish Executive has announced another £5million of funds for the Edinburgh Royal Botanic Gardens visitors' centre following the Deputy Environment and Rural Development Minister's visit to the site on Monday.
In total the Executive has contributed £10million to the project - currently £1million behind the target of £15.7 million - aimed at providing the public with greater insight into environment work around the world.
A public campaign to raise the final amount is expected in the new year, with construction due for completion in 2009.
