Urban Realm launches top interior designers hunt
October 21 2011
Urban Realm has spent much of the past year cataloguing the best new architecture in Scotland for the ASA11 (and some of the worst for the Carbuncles) but now we’re keen to peer behind the net curtains to find what lies within.Beauty isn’t just skin deep, how we experience a building from the street is but a small factor of how a building can be judged after all. Therefore Urban Realm is going to take a closer look at some of our most prominent examples of bricks and mortar to gain an understanding of the heart of these structures – their interiors.
To kick things off we want your nominations for the best interior designs (and designers). Perhaps you have been awed by the flamboyance of Graven Images work on the Corinthian Club whilst supping a French Martini (or two). Or gone ape at 442 Design’s nature inspired makeover of Edinburgh Zoo’s Grasslands restaurant?
If you have then we want to hear from you! Simply take a moment to jot down who you believe to be the best interior designers working in the country at the moment then sit back and we’ll do the rest.
In a forthcoming issue of the magazine we’ll profile the most popular nominations and reveal the identity of the overall winner.
A deadline for nominations has been set for November 10.

Most architects do the interiors work on thier builings, and strangely enough spend more time on this (it being the interior spaces that accomodate the very raison d'ĂȘtre for the builing and are most important to the client. Architecture isn't just the wallpaper on the outside of the building!!!!

Architects can most definitely participate, as can anyone or any firm involved in interior design work. Get nominating!
